Mid Century Modern on Sun Valley St. – Putting it all together

The work on the mid century modern house on Sun Valley St, Houston is underway. I try my best to restore as much original details and classic mid century modern features as possible. But not only we must bring the property up to code, but often times the disrepair is such that a lot needs to be done.  After the drastic demolition, re-wiring, new plumbing, leveling foundation, new gas lines, removing a huge rotting tree from the backyard, it’s time to put it all together! I spend several days searching and finding the perfect materials to complement the space giving it a modern feel but still fitting of a mid century modern house. For this remodel I’m putting quart counters, I designed and had custom cabinets made for the entire house, maple engineered wood flooring, kohler toilets, new entry doors, custom mini blinds, Gohe European faucets, a collection of modern lighting and I also imported Portuguese tiles. I’ve been able to restore and use the original door handles, the windows and frames and a very cool partition in the living room.
